Aquamarine is believed to help calm waves and keep sailors safe. Its name comes from the Latin for seawater. Aquamarine is said to give the wearer protection against foes and quicken their intellect.

Aquamarine is a type of mineral that forms from cooling magma deep inside the Earth called beryl. Emerald is another form of beryl.
History and Meaning of Aquamarines
It was believed that aquamarine could help to cure heart, liver and stomach diseases by drinking the water the gem had soaked in.
In folklore if you dream of aquamarine it’s though that you’ll soon make new friends.
Aquamarine is believed to have a calming, soothing influence that helps the wearer stay calm and level-headed during stressful situations.

Aquamarine’s name comes from the sea – aqua is Latin for water and marina, sea. The blue-green hue and watery depth of aquamarine represent their namesake beautifully and it was a pleasure to set these beautifully stones into my new aquamarine birthstone Satsuma studs.
