Can you recycle or reuse old jewellery and stones?
There is something very special about creating something new, from an old piece of jewellery. By reusing the gemstones and precious metals, you are essentially giving a jewel a new lease of life, without losing any of the sentimental value it holds.
There is nothing I like more, than adapting my current designs, to incorporate precious sentimental gemstones.
Customised Axolotl Cuff Bracelets
Here are three different oxidised, silver Axolotl cuffs that we adapted, to create bespoke pieces, using customers own gemstones.
This oxidised silver cuff is set with four Diamonds and three Emeralds made from an unwanted family ring.
These Aquamarines and Diamonds, are set in 18ct yellow gold settings, made from the original ring.

Customised Axolotl Bracelet
This silver bracelet has also been set with Diamonds and Aquamarines, from inherited family jewellery. The result was really unusual and dramatic; it looks so good on the new owner.

Special Commissioned Axolotl Cuffs
The customer had several gemstones from unwanted family jewellery and she wanted me to use them in two specially designed cuff bracelets. The first one was for her, incorporating ten round diamonds and three square ones. It is a very striking piece, the diamonds look so sparkly and bright, in contrast to the dark, moody, textured bangle.

Customised Petal Necklaces
I have had two commissions for customised silver, 'Petal Necklaces'. For both the necklaces, I created bug-like pendants, that hung between the two front petals.
The first one, incorporated a round Cabouchon Emerald, with some significant script on its body.

This is the second one; incorporating a very beautiful unusual shaped Emerald, and creating a geometric centrepiece inspired by a moth.

Customised Large Bobbled Pollen Drop Earrings
Customised Bobbled Pollen Stud Earrings
These family diamonds were incorporated into the centre of my Bobbled Pollen Studs. The stones were set in the gold from an unwanted item of jewellery.

Customised Five Band Rings
I have made two custom five band rings, both with three bars across, instead of the usual one bar, that my standard design has.
The first, using fifteen yellow Sapphires, from a cross that her husband bought her for a present. She was not keen on the cross motif, but wanted to use the pretty Sapphires. This design seemed meant to be, as this design requires fifteen stones. Both her and her husband were really delighted with the finished ring .

The second ring, strangely was also made from gemstones from a cross. The customer had inherited it from her late mother, but knew she would not wear it as it was. I had the gold from the cross cast, to make the central bar, across the ring.
Both the rings looked so different from the original piece, but they are now rings to wear, treasure and pass on one day, to their daughters.

Customised Bubble Rings
I made two bespoke Bubble Rings, incorporating square cut stones from inherited jewellery.
The first one is made in silver, incorporating an Emerald.

Customised Medusa Ring
This 9ct white-gold Medusa Ring was adapted by my goldsmith, in order to house her square diamonds, originally set in a traditional three stone ring.

Customised Cobra Ring
This 'Cobra Ring' caught the eye of a customer and we thought it would work well with the three big Diamonds, from a traditional ring, she had inherited. The oxidised silver is so striking with the Diamonds, the stones seem to stand out more and the dark metal gives it a very distinct feel.

Customised Twig Ring
This oxidised silver, 'Twig Ring' was the band of choice for my customers diamond. It was set in 18ct gold rub over setting and dropped down, into the textured dark band .

Customised Spotted Band Rings
My spotted band rings are a very popular design, but we have also made several bespoke spotted rings using customers inherited stones.
Here is an oxidised spotted band, set with a beautiful oval-blue sapphire that was originally in the customers engagement ring. She wanted a complete change of style, something strong, modern, but still classic. The stone had been very scratched with wear, but once the stone was re-polished, the difference was amazing and the beauty of the deep-blue was revealed.

Customised Dotty Cigar Ring
This slightly slimmer dotty band was cast in platinum and the customers old-cut cushion shaped diamond, was set in a rub-over platinum setting. This was a very well received gift for her daughter-in-law and the customer was so pleased that the diamond was bought to life and worn every day.

Customised Midi Bobbled Stacking Rings
The stones were removed from old family rings and the settings for the diamonds were made using the gold. The Midi Bobbled stacking ring adds texture and sparkle, but the rings remains simple and classic.
This one was in 18ct yellow gold.

Customised Diamond Octopus Ring
The oxidised silver 'Octopus Ring' was set with three diamonds, removed from a traditional, three stone ring. The customer wanted a bold everyday ring as a gift for her daughter.
