Budding Pearl Pendant - Silver and Pearl 

I'd been thinking about how the Japanese view cherry blossom, not as something to own but something to notice, fleeting and precious all at once, and about the Japanese art of wrapping, where the wrapping itself becomes as considered as the thing it holds. So I made two cherry blossom branches, still in bud and wrapped them by hand in a textured metal ribbon the way you'd wrap something you truly wanted to protect. Between them sits a large, lustrous pearl, held firm as the centrepiece ready to be noticed. 

My work isn’t fast fashion and it’s not trying to be. It’s made slowly and properly in my jewellery atelier in Tunbridge Wells. Each piece I make is created to be worn for decades and then handed down or passed on. This piece is partly cast and partly hand fabricated.
