My Rice Pearl Necklace in oxidised silver features eight chains decorated with groups of rice pearl beads. I love the way the finished beads reflect nature and contrast beautifully with the chains to give a softness and movement.

Designer's notes
When I had my London workshop, I worked with a group of jewellery designers and we all created pieces with pearls for a show at the Barbican. I chose rice pearls and years later I found some left over in a drawer and came up with the idea of casting them in silver. This is one of the pieces that came about from that experiment. There are eight Oxidised Silver chain strands with Silver and Oxidised Silver rice pearls.
